Salemwood School | Malden, MA
New K-8 School
Salemwood School is the first and largest of five K-8 grade schools comprising a $116 million school revitalization program currently underway in the City of Malden. This four-story, 195,000 square foot facility accommodates approximately 1,232 students.
The academic wing houses two school programs (grades K-4 and 5-8), under one roof with shared core resources. A state-of-the-art telecommunications network system provides all classrooms, the library/instructional media center, and the computer labs with the latest informational and educational technology. The cafeteria, auditorium, and music and art rooms are also in this wing.
The 20,000 square foot fieldhouse is connected to the school by an enclosed bridge and houses two basketball courts, seating for 600 spectators, and locker rooms.
Site enhancements included the restoration of adjacent Roosevelt Park, the development of two softball fields with an ‘overlay’ soccer field, and design of a new playground. All resources are available to community groups after regular school hours.
